WPC: Avocado & Pear Endive Salad

I thought it would be awhile before I came up with a new original recipe but here is one finally. It was everything that I expected and was a great beginning to a tasty New Years Eve Dinner party.  Welcome to a New Year 2015.  Click here for the recipe.

I must admit though this is tagged under vegetarian.  I am not I must admit.  This salad was a starter for a smoked ribs eye roast served medium rare then accompanied  with mushroom & almond sautéed green beans and  then parsley pan fried red potatoes.  Oh.. food is as much a passion for me as photography.  Maybe more.   I love inventing new recipes.  Most of mine include what I call as “drunkin” recipes.  This does not include any alcohol so you are safe.  It was exactly what I expected.  Please give it a try and do enjoy.

If you like the recipe from KCinAZ, then give me a like or comment on this post. 😀  I’ll try to give you more fun recipes.

Lets talk about the two sides of me. I am a Gemini just so you know. The first side of me is the cooking and entertaining part. This is a major part of my life and I wouldn't be fulfilled without it. Of course, we all have to eat, but the main part of cooking for me is entertaining and sharing fun and flavorful foods with great friends. Dinner parties, happy hours and well, most anything to do with food is where I begin to enjoy. My other side, the artsy side is a craving for art, painting and photography. Maybe this is my Gemini left side of the brain?? Since starting to write a Blog I've picked back up what hubby calls my big ass camera and started carting it around again. He’s always afraid I will ask him to carry it. I keep thinking that when I retire (?#&*!!!) that I will have time to read all the photography books in my library and become a superb photographer. Wishful thinking.

I agree with thehungrymum. Avocado is a winner. Avocado and bacon.

My mouth is watering, Karen! I haven’t heard of Marston’s pecans and dressing before – I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for both!

I don’t know if you noticed but I put a link to their website in the recipe on BigOven. I buy them at a high end market called AJs in our area. http://www.marstonproducts.com They will tell you who carries them. Saw the One Photo Focus post. It was great. Lots of great different views.

Nope, didn’t see the link, so thanks for that 🙂 And, yup, so much fun to see everyone’s creativity! And we hit our highest number of participants – 21: woo-hoo!

Avocado anything is a winner, esp in a salad. Thanks for the inspiration.
