Smitten Kitten: Paddle Board Adventures

We were headed for the Prickly Pear Cays on Day 2 of our catamaran cruise but couldn’t venture through the opening to get to calm side on seal island.   So we continued on to Maunday’s Bay and dropped anchor off of the beach side near Juluca Hotel which is on the southwest side of Anguilla for a lunch and swim in the area.

Played in water for several hours with noodles, snorkel and paddle board.  Basia and Gus gave a try on the paddle board. Basia did great.

Gus not so much. Durf.. paddle board to paddle board ace.  Later Gus got the hang if it and paddled for a while.

Lets talk about the two sides of me. I am a Gemini just so you know. The first side of me is the cooking and entertaining part. This is a major part of my life and I wouldn't be fulfilled without it. Of course, we all have to eat, but the main part of cooking for me is entertaining and sharing fun and flavorful foods with great friends. Dinner parties, happy hours and well, most anything to do with food is where I begin to enjoy. My other side, the artsy side is a craving for art, painting and photography. Maybe this is my Gemini left side of the brain?? Since starting to write a Blog I've picked back up what hubby calls my big ass camera and started carting it around again. He’s always afraid I will ask him to carry it. I keep thinking that when I retire (?#&*!!!) that I will have time to read all the photography books in my library and become a superb photographer. Wishful thinking.

Does that ever look good! Compare these beautiful pictures to here, where Sunday morning they are going to have the annual Polar Bear Plunge into Lake Michigan. Today they were clearing a patch in the ice. Sunday the high will be 19˚ with snow expected. I don’t care what they say, you’ve got the right idea. 🙂

Are you going venture out and take pictures of the polar nuts taking the dip. They must be crazy.

I won’t be anywhere near that beach. They’re doing it to raise funds for the Special Olympics. Jimmy Fallon will be taking the plunge with our Mayor.
