Afternoon Swim

Afternoon Swim

A full feathered duck taking an afternoon swim and splashing playfully in the water on a sunny day at a park in London.

This shot was taken back in the days with my first digital camera a Minolta DiMAGE Z1.  At the time I thought the camera was amazing but as the new technology progressed I’ve upgraded and often want to upgrade again.   Every time I look at one of these pictures I wish I had been carrying a better camera. And, things haven’t changed. I still envy the photographer lugging along their heavy lenses, tripods and professional cameras and think, “oh, you lucky duck”.  I’ve catalogs of cameras and lenses from all makers that were gathered at the CES show this year in Las Vegas.  Those are the only brochures and catalogs that I brought home.   I would like to upgrade but don’t want to get the wrong camera or lenses and then be wanting to upgrade again in another year.

My current camera is a Nikon D60 Gold Edition which is now probably going on six or so.  I’m still relatively happy with this amateur camera, but know that I’m missing some fine shots.   I’ve only three lenses for the camera, a standard Nikon DX 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6, a Tamron wide angle SP 1-24mm 1:3.5 – 4.5, and Nikon DX Nikkor 55-200mm 1:4.5-5.6.

I’m asking for feedback and suggestions, please.  I would appreciate you sharing your favorite camera(s), lenses, how you use the lenses and why you like them.  I would be greatly appreciate to hearing from my Photography Community.  I’ve followed you because of the great photography I have seen here in WordPress.com and am sure you will be a great help in taking my next step.  Thanks.
